54,000 square feet of major additions and renovations to an existing church. The additions included a new sanctuary, nursery, and an elevator/lobby space. The additions were structured with conventional steel, beams and bar joists, light-gauge steel framing, and masonry bearing wall construction. Long-span steel trusses were utilized to create the large open roof structure above the new sanctuary. The renovations included the creation of a new children’s area, structural support for numerous operable partitions, new skylights in the existing roof, and the construction of a new mansard roof element.
